More than Just a Business Card

Many companies started off with a basic web site just to have an Internet presence. These sites are little more than electronic business cards with the hours of operation and contact information for the company. Today's Internet, however, offers companies much more than just another advertising arm. By leveraging the growing technology even any company can offer their clients and employees more by adding web-based applications to their website.

One of the most common applications, E-Commerce, is found on most of today's retail sites, but the options do not stop there. From document management to membership and event registrations, the options are unlimited. With buzz words like "Ajax", "WEB 2.0", and "Web Services", it is easy for one to get lost in the terminology and not see the advantages of implementing an application that can help one's business. Wading through the options becomes time consuming and is a task often left for the "free time" that we never seem to find. One does not need to understand the buzz words to leverage this technology. What is important is to understand that these new technologies offer abilities to web-based applications that were previously only available to desktop programs. This has, in turn, led to more sophisticated web-based applications that perform many of the tasks previously only available on-site.

Many companies from small to large are finding out the advantages of moving some of their business processes to web-based applications. Whether it is the ability to have your employees work remotely, or having your clients be able to find the status of their request at any time of the day or night, the right application can help accentuate your business and help things run more efficiently. A well designed web-based application can help increase your customer satisfaction and your revenues as it opens your potential to customers beyond your immediate geographical area.
